PROFILE (2013)

PROFILE tells us of a utopian love that can survive distance and ease suffering. From the driving beat of Ride on, which leads us towards great open spaces, to the sarcastic tones of Battle cries, the band explores the entire spectrum of emotions in his songs. We also get a solid dose of empathy in this album with a number of songs, like How does it feel? or Out there, that are like hands extended towards others in anguish or an invitation to introspection. Despite the farewells and the fear of the unknown in Nearest hope, the grooving sound remains catchy and the melodies are luminous.

Out there

And I’m… far again… to retain or refrain
Well I’m… far away… too far to stay…too much to say
And I’m… far again… to retain… remain the same
And I’m… far away… to start again, recast the play
And I’ve… given up… hunting down… your memory
And I’m… far too low, far below… your look so cruel
And I’ve… broken up… love the pain… your lips so dry
And I’m… far too weak, far too deep… your hand so steep

There’s a side out there, boy… I don’t wanna see
There’s a side in there, girl… I wanna forget
There’s a side out there, boy… Dont’ wanna regret
There’s a side in there, girl… I should never know

How long the time to wonder why ? How long the time to make things right ?
How long the time to wonder why ? How long the time to save my mind ?

Aha get out get out…
I’m only hanging out

Living in the sun

I could be living in the sun
I could be having lots more fun
The fact remains that I’ve been looking for…
Too many things that don’t exist, don’t exist

Certainly, we could be looking for more than things
Doesn’t matter what you want you got yourself a moment of truth, yeah this time
How d’you feel about going up to a better mood?
Don’t you think we could be one once again

Now’s the time to get up, it’s your life, your life

I could be living in the sun
I could be having lot’s more fun
It’s your life, don’t get bored again, again

I could be living in the sun
I could be having lot’s more fun
Now’s the Time, to get up, it’s your life, your life

Certainly, we could be looking for more than things
Doesn’t matter what you want you got yourself a moment of truth
How d’you feel about going up to a better mood?
Don’t you think we could be one once again

Nearest hope

This is what you are, an automation now… Between chance and fear, we’re losing track
This is what they made, an everlasting man… get yourself upgraded and please comply

This is what we are, a new equation now… have we reached, the final state of being
This is what we’ve found, a new efficient life… And we feel, the moment, we’re looking for

Now I can confess, I didn’t feel distressed…
sudden death and open wars… Crashing planes… I won’t deplore
It’s how I score, things I adore
It seems that I am back, my fingers move alright…
resurrection made his way… celebrate this holy day
The doctors are concerned, it wasn’t my first turn… they backed me up, I killed myself…
survival turned against itself

Ages and ages… they won’t let you pass,
For miles and miles… life of a butterfly

Now I feel the sudden time as I walk in… through the door
And I feel alright, as the fear goes by
Let me die, oh let me die… I’ll never die

Battle cries

Shades of a rock, get me down
How can I take it and leave
Confess and disdain, the way you’ve been,
How did we get out of it ?

I came with battle cries, but chose to pass them by… though
I can’t remember thoughts of fight, alright

Some of the things you used to do
Worked out just against my needs
The joy that I’ve found set me free
Well, nothing is escaping me

I came with battle cries, but chose to pass them by
I don’t remember thoughts of fight… alright
I can’t remember how you bite… alright
I do remember how we danced… all night

How does it feel?

How does it feel?

Your head against the ceiling bouncing back
All the things they said a smoking cloud
Your legs still rushing up from the dark
The evidence has melted like our time

Hang on, hang on
since you can’t afford, to remember…
The reason why

How does it feel?

Water pouring out of your eyes
On and on it washes out your crime
(Or) waves may throw it back against your dyke

Hang on, hang on
since you can’t afford, to remember…
The reason why

Water pouring out of your eyes

Hang on, hang on
no you can’t afford…
The reason why

Ride on

I know all you feel… wanna make it real
but what’s in the meal… what a happy deal
I deny the gap… lead us to this trap,
what am I hoping/looking for

I see the days on and on, I see the day gone… ride on ride on

Once I felt apart, drifting from the shore,
can’t remember more, (I’m) heading for once more
Need to sail away, find some better days
Another mayday, that’s the price I’ll pay
Do I see your face, looks like empty grace
what am I looking/hoping for

I see the days on and on, I see the day gone… ride on ride on

Hey hey… I don’t need to say, there’s only you, only you
Hey hey… The price to pay, it’s only you, only you
Hey hey… I don’t need to say, there’s only you, only you
Hey hey… The cast away, it’s only you, only you

Album Review

Bel effort !
